small snow
Finally getting a little snow here. We had estimates of 3-7" for yesterday, but it barely snowed & didn't even start flurrying until about 9am. We've gotten a little more snow today (started late last night), not sure if it's even an inch though.

Hot Summer?
We seemed to have a warmer Summer this year. More days in the 90s than normal. A bit more rain though, too, which we needed.
We had a taste of Fall with a cold front that dropped us into the 60s one day last week. I'm not quite ready for that. I'm afraid Fall will be too short. You can tell things are changing though - the nights seem to be cooler & the days warm up a little slower.
Looking forward to the balloon classic this weekend. Hope the weather is good so the balloons can launch. I remember some fog delayed things last year.

Wacky June
Things are still wacky around here. We've had many days in the 80s & even 90s, which seems very above-average for this time of year. Then...today happens. We get a storm coming through and the highs today were only in the 50s with plenty of cold rain.

Snow in May
Wacky weather, as usual around here. We had a few dustings of snow in April, then a bigger snow at the end of April (23rd). Thought we were finally done when it snowed again on 2 May. Nothing to cry & scream over, but it was a sight to see. Big, fluffy flakes, so thick you could barely see.
Spring is here though. Almost everything in our yard has bloomed, sprouted leaves, etc. Just waiting on the oak tree, a burning bush and some of the weigelas. The crab apple tree is all blooms this year. Pretty in Pink :) And the apple tree has some flowers. Maybe we'll have fruit in another year...
We've had some gorgeous days for parks. Break out the sunblock! Last weekend was nice & we were up at the Denver Nature & Science Museum. After exploring the museum we got to enjoy the city park where the museum is located.

Seasons change...
Feels like Spring is starting to creep in on us & I'm pretty happy about it :) I realized the sun is setting much later today & there is more sun in my backyard (shining in through the back windows). I also noticed the 7-day forecast had the majority of the days in the low 50s/high 40s. WOOP! That's always subject to change out here, but it's so nice to see.

a different part of town
It's so strange how the weather can vary so much depending on where you are in town. We've had some sun, lots of clouds & occasional rain/sleet/grapple(?). Driving north to south I hit a pretty big section of heavy precip & low visibility. Coming back in the other direction, the weather changed from one intersection to the next. Suddenly, we were back in sunshine & big clouds.
Hoping these weird weather changes mean that Spring will be here sooner rather than later this year. It was hard to see so much snow in March & April last year.

more mild stuff
The weather has been pretty gorgeous still. It's a nice treat. We finally got outside to fix some issues w/our landscaping this weekend. Also, did some winter watering for the plants & trees. I feel like the pine trees are a battle. They dry out very easy if you don't pay attention. When we bought our trees, they were all labeled as Austrian pines. Yet, they have very different shapes. It's strange.

Happy 2010!
We've had a very mild & nice week or so, that looks to continue for the next 5 days or so. Makes me wonder if a big snow will follow. Hard to stay optimistic. It's still winter & only January. But it's a nice reprieve for the utility bill after last month's super cold days.
